What is henna?

Henna is a plant that grows in many hot countries and is used to make a paste.

The leaves are dried, made into a powder, sifted to give the results of super

fine henna powder

What is henna paste?

Henna powder, on its own, does not stain the skin. Henna powder is mixed with

lemon juice/water and essential oils to make the henna paste. When the dye in

the paste is released, the henna paste is ready to stain the skin.

How is henna applied?

Henna paste is filled into henna cones with very fine tips &  applied on the skin.

When should henna be applied?

Natural henna cannot produce instant, dark results. It reaches its darkest colour

in approx. 36-48 hours. It first stains a bright orange, then gradually gets darker

till it reaches a dark maroon / brown / cherry colour. Hence henna should always

be applied 2-3 days before the event.

What is black henna?

Black henna does not exist! Black henna is chemicals mixed in with henna that can be harmful to your skin and cause damage. Please ensure that any henna applied on you is natural henna and not black henna. HV.HENNA only uses natural, home made henna.

How long will henna last?

Henna will last up to 3 weeks. However the length will be affected by how warm you are and how much you touch water. Henna likes heat and hates water.

Does henna show up on all skin tones?

Yes! Myself being a dark skinned tamil girl, i have constantly been seeking for artists who can supply henna that will leave dark stains on me. This search for henna, has made me want to make my own natural henna that will be suitable for all skin tones. If aftercare is followed as advised there will be no holding back from getting the stain you need
